Last year was my first year teaching this new curriculum and it worked great.  I have most of my students that are going to Kindergarten reading already and the 3-4 yr. olds all know their 42 sounds.  It has really proved to be a great program.  Get your kids off to a great start in Kindergarten and get them in this curriculum program.

Our Curriculum is a fun and child centred approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. With actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, the multi-sensory method is very motivating for children and teachers, who can see their students achieve. The letter sounds are split into seven groups.

Letter Sound Order

The sounds are taught in a specific order (not alphabetically). This enables children to begin building words as early as possible.

How does it work?

Using a synthetic phonics approach, Jolly Phonics teaches children the five key skills for reading and writing. Complemented by Jolly Readers and Jolly Grammar, it provides a thorough foundation for teaching literacy over three years in school.

Since we have almost 3 hour class times, we will also be doing math, science, and art.  Math will focus on lot of hands on activites that will help the children understand counting and number association. In Science we will have some fun experiments that they will do.  In Art they will experience the different types of art that artist do and who the artist are.  This will help bring on a more creative side to the curriculum that I think the children will like.
